Jiangsu releases big data industry development plan for 14th Five-Year plan period

East China’s Jiangsu province will report 250 billion yuan in revenue by 2025 from the big data sector as its core business, according to the recently-released big data industry development plan for 14th Five-Year plan period. 

During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, Jiangsu will promote the value of data in alignment with the principles of value leadership, innovation drive, application traction, and safety and order, and pinpoint the province’s development positioning in terms of new infrastructure, new elements, new industries, and new applications.

Jiangsu will also take measures to strengthen the data infrastructure, cultivate the data element market, forge the industrial core capabilities, prosper the industry development ecology, stimulate the release of data value, and strengthen data security.

By 2025, Jiangsu will become an advanced computing power support area that actively integrates into the Yangtze River Delta and has international competitiveness in advantageous and characteristic fields, a pilot zone for efficient allocation of data elements, a big data industry innovation development zone, and a big data integration application demonstration zone.

By 2025, Jiangsu will have built 255 thousand 5G base stations with 700 thousand standard racks for data centers in use.

Jiangsu will cultivate 2-3 data resource circulation and trading institutions, and build a number of public data resource aggregation platforms and government-enterprise multi-party data integration platforms.

Efforts will be made to cultivate 3-5 big data companies with certain technological prowess in the country and 50 featured big data companies focusing on industry applications.
