Wuxi and Xuzhou, respectively located in southern and northern Jiangsu province, signed a cooperation agreement in Wuxi on Oct 9.
Cooperation between the two cities has been strong in platform construction, project investment, model innovation, and officials' communication during the 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-20) period.
A total of seven industrial parks co-built by the two cities have been included in the provincial assessment sequence. Two of the parks have been approved to become provincial-level innovation pilot parks and characteristic parks.
The Wuxi-Xuzhou Industrial Park, sponsored by the Wuxi National Hi-tech District and the Xuzhou Economic Development Zone and located in the core area of the Xuzhou Railway Business New City, has attracted 29 industrial and financial projects worth 22.95 billion yuan ($3.55 billion) this year. Nineteen of them, with a total investment of 18.15 billion yuan, are now under construction.
The Jiangyin-Suining Industrial Park has officially agreed to carry out 29 projects with a total investment of 4 billion yuan. The Yixing-Peixian Industrial Park has introduced 14 projects worth 5.8 billion yuan in total.
The Party secretaries of Wuxi and Xuzhou agreed that the two cities will develop an even stronger relationship to lead regional integrated development in Jiangsu province. The two cities will carry out exchange and cooperation and share resources in industrial development.
