Jiangsu will further support the construction of new digital infrastructure and support the digital transformation of the whole society, according to the "Fourteenth Five-Year Plan for the Development of Information and Communication Industry in Jiangsu Province" that was released recently.
Jiangsu will put forward 21 industry development quantitative indicators in terms of building new digital infrastructure and promoting digital application services by taking accelerating the comprehensive digital transformation of the economy and society as the "mainline". 13 of the 21 indicators are concerned with infrastructure construction.
Jiangsu will build more than 255 thousand 5G base stations to ensure that 5G users will reach 70% of the total population with the number of 5G users exceeding 60 million.
5G network will be accessible in cities, towns and 90% of administrative villages, and cover traffic hubs, large stadiums, scenic spots and other areas with large flow of people.
Gigabit optical network will cover all urban areas, and at the same time, more than 1.5 million 10 Gigabit optical network and above ports have been established to ensure the subscription of 10 million Gigabit broadband users.
Jiangsu will build 700 thousand data center racks to provide data centers and computing power carriers for the development of new technologies such as 5G, artificial intelligence, and industrial Internet.
At the same time, Jiangsu will also accelerate the application of 5G+ smart education, 5G+ smart medical care for livelihood use and promote the expansion of network and information services in industrial cloud services, smart transportation city governance and other digital production and digital governance services.
