The feasibility study report of the North Yangtze River High-speed Railway, a high-speed railway from Shanghai to Hefei via Nanjing, was approved recently by the National Development and Reform Commission.
The project starts from the newly-built Baoshan Station in Shanghai, passes through Suzhou, Nantong, Taizhou, Yangzhou, Nanjing in Jiangsu Province, Chuzhou and Hefei in Anhui Province, and ends at Hefei South Station. The total length of the railway line is 554.6 kilometers, with a total of 16 stations to be built. The design speed will reach 350 kilometers per hour.
