正在建设中的苏州南站和苏州东站近日迎来新消息。
Two railway stations under construction in Suzhou have seen progress recently.
01、Suzhou South Railway Station
Located in FOHO New & High-Tech Industrial Development Zone, Wujiang District, Suzhou South Railway Station covers an area of 22,000 square meters, and is designed in accordance with the philosophy of "connection" through introducing the elements of Suzhou classical gardens to optimize the layout of the station and the waiting area.
The station is also where Nantong-Suzhou-Jiaxing-Ningbo High-speed Railway and Shanghai-Suzhou-Huzhou Railway meet. Nantong-Suzhou-Jiaxing-Ningbo High-speed Railway is an important component of the "eight horizontal and eight vertical" railway network, and will have four stations in Suzhou, namely Zhangjiagang, Changshu West, Suzhou North and Suzhou South.

Shanghai-Suzhou-Huzhou Railway starts in Shanghai, runs through Wujiang District, Suzhou and ends in Huzhou, Zhejiang province with a total of seven stations, including Suzhou South and Shengze in Suzhou. The railway is scheduled to open to traffic in 2024.

02、Suzhou East Railway Station
Suzhou East Railway Station, also the intersection station for Rudong-Nantong-Suzhou-Huzhou Intercity Railway and Suzhou-Dianshanhu-Shanghai Intercity Railway, sits in the southeast of SIP and is 17 kilometers away from Suzhou Railway Station and 53 kilometers away from Shanghai Hongqiao Transport Hub. It will function as the subsidiary center of Suzhou city, the display window of the world's first-class high-tech industrial park, and the transport hub to connect city's new center with Shanghai.
The station will develop into an important vehicle for SIP to better serve and assimilate into such major strategies as the integration of the Yangtze River Delta, the integration of Shanghai and Suzhou, the construction of Hongqiao International Open Hub, etc., and an important platform for the industrial transition and upgrade of SIP. It involves high-speed railway, intercity railway and rail transit throughout the development and construction, and plays a major role in building SIP into the world's first-class high-tech industrial park and the city's new center towards the future.
