Wu Zhenglong, Secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, and Xu Kunlin, Governor of Jiangsu Province, met Friday afternoon via video link with Chey Tae-won, Chairman of South Korea’s SK Group. The city of Wuxi from Jiangsu Province and SK Hynix signed in-depth strategic cooperation in Nanjing and Seoul.
On behalf of the provincial party committee and the provincial government, Wu Zhenglong extended his best wishes to Chairman Chey Tae-won and all new and old friends of SK Group, and expressed his heartfelt thanks to SK Group for its long-term important contribution to the development of Jiangsu.
He said that on the occasion of the approaching traditional Chinese Spring Festival, he is very happy to meet Chairman Chey via video link to celebrate the festival, share friendship, and discuss development.
SK Group is a world-renowned enterprise and one of the most important partners in Jiangsu, Wu said, adding that Chairman Chey is an old friend of the Jiangsu people and an "honorary resident" of Jiangsu.
The CPC provincial chief said since the launch of comprehensive strategic cooperation, the two sides have continuously deepened friendship, enhanced mutual trust and strengthened cooperation.
The COVID-19 epidemic cannot stop our deep friendship although it has reduced personnel exchanges between the two sides, Wu Zhenglong said, adding that both sides have expanded the results of cooperation in various fields.
Noting that SK Group's future development is completely in line with Jiangsu's high-quality development orientation and the green and low-carbon transformation of Jiangsu's economy, Wu hoped that SK Group will continue to deepen its comprehensive strategic cooperation with Jiangsu and invest in more high-quality projects in Jiangsu.
He remarked that Jiangsu will continue to optimize the market-oriented, legalized and internationalized first-class business environment, help enterprises solve problems, and work together to create more fruitful cooperation results.
The Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee expressed his belief that with joint efforts, SK Group's project in Jiangsu will definitely better enhance the well-being of the people of Jiangsu and South Korea, and make greater contributions to building a community with a shared future for mankind.
Chey Tae-won congratulated Jiangsu on the new achievements made in the past year, and thanked Jiangsu for its care and support for the development of SK Group over the years.
He said that Jiangsu is the most important area for SK Group's industrial layout in China, adding that over the years, the cooperation between the two parties has progressed very smoothly, achieved fruitful results and forged a deep friendship.
He said that SK Group will take this signing as a new starting point, continue to boost its presence in Jiangsu, deepen mutual cooperation, contribute to the high-quality development of Jiangsu, and promote the construction of a new Jiangsu.
Governor Xu Kunlin briefed Chey Tae-won on Jiangsu’s recent economic and social development.
Present at the meeting were Pan Xianzhang, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Secretary-General of the Provincial Party Committee, Chen Jiangang, Secretary-General of the Provincial Government, executives from SK Group, and leading officials of the Wuxi Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government.
