Ice-and-snow craze sweeps Suzhou with Winter Games in full swing

　　冬奥热潮下，苏州冰雪运动热度高涨。

　　Interest in winter sports has rapidly risenin Suzhou following the opening of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games. People flock to ice rinks, spreading the fever for winter entertainment around the city.

　　Amid the citywide passion for winter sports, several ice rinks have rolled out promotions in a bid to attract more visitors.

　　"Our rink normally receives around 2,000 skaters per day. The number, however, reached as high as 3,000during the past Spring Festival holiday. To cope with the surge in visitors, we have added extra service and safety staff to keep the order on-site and the safety of skaters," said Shen Long, a staffer at Champion Rink (Suzhou Center branch).

　　According to Wu Xunyan, the manager of All Star Skating Club (Shishan Longfor branch), the rink has been extremely busy over the past week, with the footfall increasing 30 percent year-on-year. "We hope, with the Winter Games in full swing, more and more children in Suzhou will fall in love with winter sports, taking the development of winter sports in the city to a higher level."
