East China’s Jiangsu province will spare no efforts to promote the construction of transportation modernization demonstration zone by following General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions and the strategic decision of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council on accelerating the construction of a powerful country in transportation, and implement the ministerial-provincial cooperation framework agreement, according to a mobilization meeting held on Monday.
Provincial Party Secretary Wu Zhenglong thanked the Ministry of Transport for its strong guidance and support for the development of Jiangsu's transportation industry.
He pointed out that in the new journey, all regional governments and government departments in Jiangsu must adhere to the guidance of the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and gain a deep understanding of the major missions, major opportunities and major undertakings of the construction of the transportation modernization demonstration zone.
Wu Zhenglong said efforts must be made to promote the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta, accelerate the improvement of the modern comprehensive transportation network, give a strong impetus to the overall advantages of the rail transportation network, the water transportation network, the airport group and the port group, and promote the development of the world-class city group in the Yangtze River Delta.
He asked the province to focus on serving the development of the real economy, build a modern transportation and logistics system, deepen supply-side structural reforms, improve international freight capacity in an all-round way, effectively reduce logistics costs, improve urban and rural freight efficiency, develop an internationally competitive transportation industry, and stimulate the real economy, especially the manufacturing industry, to enhance competitiveness and promote high-quality development.
Wu required that measures must be taken to achieve the goal of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, promote the green and low-carbon transformation of transportation, optimize and adjust the transportation structure, develop green and low-carbon facilities and equipment, promote the economical and intensive use of resources, and promote green travel.
He asked local governments to focus on meeting people's needs for a better life, improving the quality of modern transportation services, focusing on travel efficiency, and providing first-class services to allow people to enjoy high-quality transportation, implement the ministerial-provincial cooperation framework agreement, and build a high-quality transportation modernization demonstration zone to welcome the convening of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China with practical actions.
Minister of Transport Li Xiaopeng pointed out that accelerating the construction of a country with strong transportation network is a major strategic decision made by the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core.
He hoped that the Jiangsu’s transportation system would learn from General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions on transportation development, and under the leadership of the provincial party committee and government, fully serve the national strategy for the integrated development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt and the Yangtze River Delta.
Governor Xu Kunlin asked regional authorities across the province to focus on improving the comprehensive three-dimensional transportation network, improving the comprehensive transportation efficiency and service quality, promoting the construction of green transportation and safe transportation, and promoting the construction of transportation modernization demonstration zone for new results.
