Recently, the Office of Jiangsu White Horse Lake Fishery Management Committee issued the notice on a four-month fishing ban in the White Horse Lake from 0:00 on March 1 to 24:00 on June 30, 2022. The ban covers all types of fishing-related activities in the designated waters during the closed season, including the angling, purchase, sale of illegal aquatic animals and plants. This is the first time to prohibit angling in White Horse Lake since the implementation of the fishing ban.
After years of fishing bans and water environment treatment, the fishery resources of the White Horse Lake have been significantly restored, attracting a large number of anglers, threatening the fishery resources. Thus, the fishing ban is targeted at angling too in the designated waters during the closed season this year.
