East China’s Jiangsu province has gone all out to respond to the current complexity and severity of epidemic prevention and control by promoting the construction of various major projects so as to win the victory of epidemic prevention and control and economic and social development.
Geely started construction on Tuesday morning on its high-performance electric drive project in the Huishan Economic and Technological Development Zone in Wuxi.
This 10-billion-yuan project is the first of its kind Wuxi has launched since the start of this year. The Huishan Economic and Technological Development Zone established a special service team to escort the project throughout the process.
The construction of the project requires 300 cement pipe piles. However,the recent epidemic prevention and control policies in various places have made it difficult for these cement pipe piles to arrive at Wuxi for unloading after being shipped from Ningbo Port.
Huishan Economic and Technological Development Zone has coordinated with relevant departments to open up green channels for the project.
Since the recent outbreak of the epidemic, Wuxi has strengthened epidemic prevention and control, accelerated the implementation of policies and measures for the development of various industries at all levels by reducing taxes and fees, assisting enterprises in bailouts, going all out to help enterprises tide over difficulties, and promoting the construction of various major projects so as to ensure stable and healthy economic and social development.
The construction of the power and energy storage lithium-ion battery R&D and production project in Liyang county of Changzhou has entered the final stage and is expected to be completed by the end of May.
Construction of the project started at the end of January 2021. The project investor overcame the adverse impact of the epidemic, completed the construction of the main plant in 10 months, and put the first production line into trial operation within 11 months.
A total of 12 world-leading lithium-ion battery cell production lines and corresponding module and battery pack production lines will be constructed to ensure the breakthrough and upgrade of key technologies and general technologies of lithium batteries.
Upon its production, the project is expected to generate an annual output of 30GWh of power and energy storage lithium-ion batteries, which can provide power for 300,000-600,000 new energy vehicles a year with an employment of nearly 10,000 people.
