East China’s Jiangsu province will step up its efforts to contain the resurgence of the COVID-19 epidemic by following the important speech delivered by Xi Jinping, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee on Thursday when chairing the meeting of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee. Efforts should be made to enhance political stance, gain insight into the decisive significance that the Party has established Comrade Xi Jinping’s core position on the Party Central Committee and in the Party as a whole and defined the guiding role of the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for the New Era from the political height of strengthening the four consciousnesses and the four self-confidences, safeguarding the authority of the CPC Central Committee and getting united around the centralized and unified leadership the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core, said the statement.
Governments at all levels over the province must clearly realize that Jiangsu's epidemic prevention and control is in a critical period, so the government must further strengthen epidemic prevention and control, and resolutely consolidate the hard-won prevention and control results, said the statement.
More efforts are needed to scale up nucleic acid testing, strengthening epidemiological investigations, tracing the chain of infection and the source of infection as soon as possible, and strive to identify all potential infected persons as soon as possible, the statement said.
Strong measures should be taken to speed up the transfer and isolation of infected persons, strengthen traffic control, inspect various checkpoints, entrances and exits at provincial and municipal boundaries, prevent the spread of the epidemic, strengthen the management of key personnel and places, and strengthen the prevention and control of construction sites, ports, schools, hospitals and fever clinics, nursing homes, prisons, farmers markets, enterprises, cold chain logistics centers, according to the statement.

He made the remarks at the meeting of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee.
The meeting analyzed the current epidemic prevention and control situation, studied priorities and made arrangements for relevant work. The meeting stressed the importance of unswervingly adhering to the dynamic zero-COVID policy and resolutely fighting any attempts to distort, question or dismiss China's anti-COVID policy.
