The provincial leadership of east China’s Jiangsu province held a meeting Thursday to study the important speeches delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping at a gathering in Beijing on Tuesday to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Youth League of China and group study session of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee. Wu Zhenglong, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, presided over the meeting and delivered a speech.
As an economic powerhouse, Jiangsu is a gathering place for various types of capital such as state-owned capital, collective capital, private capital, foreign capital, and mixed capital, according to a statement released after the meeting.
Party committees and governments at all levels in the province should make efforts to study the important speech delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping at the group study session of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee so as to gain insight into the decisive significance that the Party has established Comrade Xi Jinping’s core position on the Party Central Committee and in the Party as a whole and defined the guiding role of the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for the New Era from the political height of strengthening the four consciousnesses and the four self-confidences, safeguarding the authority of the CPC Central Committee and getting united around the centralized and unified leadership the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core, said the statement.
We must strive to strengthen our awareness of the importance of regulating and guiding the healthy development of capital in accordance with the law, get rooted in the new development stage, implement new development concepts, build new development patterns, promote high-quality development, and enhance our political stance, the statement said.
Party committees and governments at all levels in the province must adhere to problem-oriented approach and systematic thinking, stand firm in the present, focus on the long-term, adhere to classified policies, coordinate development and safety, efficiency and fairness, vitality and order, domestic and international, and promote the combination of effective market and promising government so as to ensure the standardized, orderly and healthy development of various types of capital, according to the statement.
Party committees at all levels must implement the country’s measures to deepen the reform of the capital market, strengthen source governance and industry supervision, focus on preventing and defusing risks, strengthen anti-corruption in the capital field, continuously improve the efficiency of capital governance, and give full play to the positive role of capital in promoting scientific and technological progress, prospering the market economy, facilitating people's lives, and participating in international competition, so that capital will always obey and serve the interests of the people and the country, the statement said.
The provincial leadership meeting also called for efforts to study General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech at the gathering celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Youth League of China as it is of strong political, ideological, strategic and instructive nature, sounding a new horn to promote the vigorous development of youth development, according to the statement.
Wu Zhenglong said General Secretary Xi's important speech is a programmatic document shining with the light of Marxist truth as it points out the way forward and provides fundamental guidelines for the Chinese youth movement and youth work in the new era, which will surely gather the majestic strength of hundreds of millions of young people who are striving for the first place on the national rejuvenation track.
The secretary of the provincial party committee also demanded more efforts to study General Secretary Xi's article on accelerating the construction of a nation with strong science and technology will be published Sunday.
The article by Xi, also Chinese president and chairman of the Central Military Commission, will be published in this year's ninth issue of the Qiushi Journal, a flagship magazine of the CPC Central Committee.
Highlighting the importance of science and technology in the cause of the Party and the people, the article notes that efforts to facilitate its development must be directed to developing cutting-edge technologies, spurring economic growth, meeting the country's critical needs, and improving the people's health.
China ought to achieve innovation and breakthroughs in core technologies in key areas, says the article. It notes that scientific and technology innovation must be carried out to address the most immediate and pressing problems.
To enhance the country's strategic scientific and technological capability and improve the overall efficiency of the institutional support for innovation, national laboratories, research institutes, colleges and leading tech firms ought to take up their due responsibilities, the article says.
In the meantime, the provincial leadership meeting urged strict efforts to strengthen work and production safety by following the important instructions made by General Secretary Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang on the rescue and relief mission in the wake of the building collapse in Changsha city that claimed 53 lives.
