CNOOC Yancheng "Green Energy Port" completed the hoisting of the vault module on Tuesday for six 270 thousand cubic meters of LNG storage tanks with the largest single tank capacity in the world. This is the largest vault module hoisting operation completed at one time among all LNG storage tank projects under construction in China.
The vault is an important component of the LNG storage tank, which is equivalent to the "beam" of the LNG storage tank.The single vault of the 270 thousand cubic meter storage tank spans nearly 100 meters and consists of 1 central ring and 24 large and small vault modules.The maximum span of the vault module is 46 meters with the single piece weighing 33 tons.
The hoisting operation of the vault module requires high construction accuracy, making it necessary to ensure uniformity of the hoisting load, otherwise irreversible plastic deformation will easily occur during the hoisting process.
This hoisting took the lead in China to implement the simultaneous hoisting of three storage tank vault modules.
By reducing the welding workload by nearly 83%, the innovative structural design and construction process of the prefabricated vault module has substantially improved the installation efficiency in the tank and reduced the operation risk.
10 large-scale LNG storage tanks were built, including four 220 thousand cubic meters of storage tanks in the first phase and six 270 thousand cubic meters of storage tanks in the first phase of the expansion project.6 million tons of liquefied natural gas is equivalent to 8.5 billion cubic meters of gaseous natural gas. Based on the daily natural gas consumption of residents in Jiangsu province of about 10 million cubic meters in 2020, this project can ensure 28 months of civil liquefied gas use in the province.
