The second unit of the gas turbine cogeneration project of Funing Power Plant completed a 96-hour full-load trial operation last Friday. The operation of this CNOOC Yancheng "Green Energy Port" supporting project signifies that Funing Power Plant is ready for commercial operation.
The gas turbine cogeneration project of Funing Power Plant is the first natural gas power generation project invested by CNOOC in the Yangtze River Delta region.
Funded by the Electric Power Construction Project during the 13th five-year plan period, the project involves a total investment of about 1.1 billion yuan.
By constructing two sets of 100,000-kilowatt gas-steam combined cycle co-generation units and supporting heat network, the CNOOC Yancheng "Green Energy Port" will export liquefied natural gas as fuel for power generation, which is characterized by high efficiency, cleanliness and environmental protection.

The two units of Funing Power Plant have been connected to the grid, which will ensure local energy supply, help the green development of the Yangtze River Delta region, optimize and improve the regional energy structure, and promote carbon peaking and carbon neutrality.
