East China’s Jiangsu province have given a strong impetus to the cultivation of agricultural businesses in the rural areas to contribute to the rural vitalization campaign.
Several villagers in Mageng Village, Maoshan Scenic Area of Jurong County were seen planting Chinese herbal medicine seedlings.
These Chinese herbal medicine seedlings called Shegan were carefully cultivated by Jiangsu Agriculture and Forestry Vocational and Technical College.

Located in the mountains and hills, Mageng Village has a tradition of growing Chinese herbal medicines, but the lack of technology prevents the villagers from getting high income from growing Chinese herbal medicines.
Jiangsu Agriculture and Forestry Vocational and Technical College has provided the villagers with Chinese medicine seeds and seedlings, and also offered technical assistance.

Sheng Chenxiao, a university graduate from Suzhou's Wujiang District, started an orchard. In 2020, he traveled back and forth between Suzhou and Shanghai to buy seeds and find experts, while also kept looking for land. In less than half a year, he built a 20-mu watermelon planting base.
The watermelons grown by the cooperative have received an enthusiastic response from the market.
Encouraged by the popularity of watermelons, Sheng Chenxiao increased the planting area to 200 mu and planted a variety of agricultural products including watermelons, melons and vegetables.
