East China's Jiangsu province will intensify efforts to help college graduates find employment, officials said at a conference on May 30.
Ge Daokai, the director of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, said the province will hold at least 1,000 job fairs for college students from now till the end of August. He also urged universities to cooperate with enterprises to organize activities to boost employment.
As of May 29, Jiangsu had held 2,300 online and physical job fairs offering over two million positions this year, said Ge. Party officials and principals of the province's universities have also made more than 1,800 visits to companies that have offered 430,000 jobs.
Zhang Tong, the director of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Human Resources and Security, said the department will offer career guidance, job information, as well as training and internship opportunities to students who have not found jobs.
In addition, the department will work with commerce and industry and information technology authorities as well as the development and reform commissions to carry out training sessions related to the digital economy, high-end manufacturing and other major industries.
Jiangsu's universities will also offer training to more than 15,000 students.
