The Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee of the Communist Party of China held its provincial congress Wednesday and Thursday in Nanjing and elected 71 delegates to the upcoming 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. Wang Qishan and Liu Qibao, nominated by the Party Central Committee, were elected.
The meeting was presided over by the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, and Wu Zhenglong, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, delivered a speech.
Zhao Shiyong, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Minister of the Organization Department of the Provincial Party Committee, made a report and gave an explanation on the election of Jiangsu's candidates for the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.

Wu Zhenglong pointed out that the upcoming 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China is the first national congress held by the CPC in building a modern socialist country in an all-round way and marching toward the new journey towards the second centenary goal.
The CPC provincial chief said the upcoming CPC National Congress is of great and far-reaching significance for the party to be united more closely around the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, unite and lead the people to continue their struggle for building a modern socialist country in an all-round way, continue to strive for the great victory of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
The 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China will surely become a new important milestone in the cause of the party and the people, and create a brighter, and more magnificent future, said Wu Zhenglong.
