Yangzhou in East China's Jiangsu province launched five sightseeing routes to boost local rural tourism on June 25.
Nearly 500 tourists experienced the tourism routes bound for the city's five administrative areas - Hanjiang district, the county-level city of Gaoyou, Baoying county, Yizheng district and Jiangdu district.
On the Hanjiang route, visitors can go to Beihu wetland park, Yanhu village and the sika deer base.
Tourists can visit the Wang Zengqi Memorial House when touring the Gaoyou route. Wang is a prestigious writer who is best known for his work The Love Story of a Young Monk.
Tourists can visit the national wetland park to enjoy the ecological landscape on the Baoying route.
The introduction of the five routes is part of a campaign titled The Summer in Yangzhou launched by the local government to boost cultural and tourism consumption in summer.
The campaign is named after a renowned prose by Zhu Ziqing, a famous Chinese writer from Yangzhou.
Local travel agencies will be mobilized to organize more residents to travel more to the city's rural areas to boost rural vitalization.
