East China’s Jiangsu province reported a total import and export value of 2.64 trillion yuan in the first half of the year, statistics from the Nanjing Customs show. 

Statistics show that in the first half of the year, Jiangsu reported a total import and export value of 2.64 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 10%, 0.6 percentage points higher than the national overall growth rate, accounting for 13.3% of the country's total import and export value.

In the first six months, Jiangsu reported 1.66 trillion yuan of exports, an increase of 12.3% and 973.71 billion yuan of imports, an increase of 6.2%.

In the first half of the year, Jiangsu reported 1.51 trillion yuan in general trade import and export, an increase of 10.9%, accounting for 57.2% of the province's total import and export value, an increase of 0.5 percentage points year-on-year.

Jiangsu reported a year-on-year increase of 9.8%, 11.5%, 8% and 19.9% in its imports and exports to the EU, ASEAN, the United States and South Korea.

With the increasing demand for clean energy and new energy vehicles in the European Union, the United States, and ASEAN countries, Jiangsu, under the support of a complete new energy industry system, reported 1.09 trillion yuan in the export of mechanical and electrical products in the first half of the year, an increase of 10.9% and accounting for 65.4% of the province's total export value. Substantial growth was reported in the exports of solar cells, mobile phones, and lithium-ion batteries.

With the effective control of the epidemic in Jiangsu, the gradual recovery of production demand has provided strong support for the growth of imports.

The import of mechanical and electrical products totaled 550.15 billion yuan, an increase of 9.5%, accounting for 56.5% of the total import value. The import of agricultural products totaled 71.53 billion yuan, an increase of 15.6%.
