Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, Jiangsu has fully, accurately and comprehensively implemented the new development concept in accordance with the grand blueprint for Jiangsu planned by General Secretary Xi Jinping, actively integrated into and served the new development pattern, and achieved a historic leap in the development of various economic and social undertakings.
Nantong Wushan area has a beautiful environment and is a good place for people to exercise and relax. But ten years ago, this coastline along the river was one of the largest distribution centers for imported sulphur in the country.
"Through ecological restoration, a big change has really taken place. We saw reeds and finless porpoises again and we felt so great," said a resident of Nantong.
Ecological civilization is directly related to the happiness of people's lives. Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, General Secretary Xi Jinping demanded during his three inspection tours in Jiangsu that the ecological environment must be strictly protected, and efforts should be made to build a green development demonstration belt where man and nature coexist in harmony.
Following the General Secretary's instructions, Jiangsu has spared no effort to carry out ecological restoration along the Yangtze River, accelerated the construction of ecological green corridors, implemented a fishing ban in the waters of the Yangtze River, and issued a series of ecological and environmental protection policies and regulations.
This industrial park in Zhangjiagang, formerly a chemical park, was closed in 2017, and a new park was rebuilt in 2019, forming a new development direction dominated by the production of new materials.
"It is estimated that by 2023 the total output value of our park will reach more than 6 billion yuan, and the green development will make the golden coastline along the Yangtze River truly exert its golden benefits," said Xu Jin, Deputy Director of Jiangnan Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Park Administration, Zhangjiagang High-tech Zone.
As an important manufacturing base in the country, Jiangsu has the largest manufacturing cluster in the country.
Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, Jiangsu has deeply implemented the innovation-driven development strategy, accelerated the promotion of intelligent transformation and digital transformation of the manufacturing industry.
Changzhou has emerged as a highland for China's new energy industry in recent years. With more than 3,400 midstream companies in the new energy vehicle industry chain, the city contributes one third of the country's total power battery production capacity, ranking first in the country.
"From projects worth 10 billion yuan to industrial chains worth 100 billion yuan to industrial clusters worth 1 trillion yuan, we have further optimized the endogenous driving force for industrial development," said Shen Li, Deputy Director of Changzhou Development and Reform Commission, Jiangsu Province.
The province reported an increase in its GDP from more than 5.4 trillion yuan in 2012 to 11 trillion yuan in 2021.
The province has registered more than 37,000 high-tech enterprises, more than seven-fold increase from that of a decade ago. One-fifth of China's high-tech product exports are made in Jiangsu.
The province reported an increase in its per capita disposable income from 22,432 yuan in 2012 to 47,498 yuan in 2021.
