The 2022 Wuxi Taihu Lake Shopping Festival opened at the Wuxi Sunac Resort in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, on July 23.
The shopping festival is expected to run until September, during which time more than 100 promotional activities involving nighttime consumption, tourism, and online shopping will be held.

Over 1.5 billion yuan ($221.84 million) in subsidies will also be offered to local citizens during the two-month festival.
From July to September, six districts and two county-level cities in Wuxi will roll out a series of activities.
Jiangyin will a host nighttime fair over the following two months, and band performances, flash mobs, and extreme sports shows will be staged every Sunday evening.

Yixing will extend the hours of its shopping malls and offer coupons to local citizens, and nighttime bazaars will also be available in the city to display local specialties, including pottery, bamboo ware, and bonsai.
Nearly 100 promotional consumption activities will be held in Liangxi district, while Xishan district will launch a home decoration festival, gourmet festival, and other activities to stimulate consumption.
Huishan district, meanwhile, will create its first nighttime tour-themed block and Binhu district, Xinwu and the Wuxi Economic Development Zone will spur the development of the nighttime economy by holding activities such as beer festivals, electronic music parties, street dances, and bazaars.
