China’s Vice Premier Hu Chunhua delivered a video speech on Sunday at the ASEAN-China-Japan-Korea (10+3) Industry Chain Supply Chain Cooperation Forum and East Asian Entrepreneur Taihu Forum that was held in the city of Suzhou in east China’s Jiangsu province.
Hu Chunhua said that President Xi Jinping emphasized that it is necessary to uphold the diplomatic concept of amity, sincerity, mutual benefit and inclusiveness to build a community with a shared future for the neighboring countries.
He said in recent years, China has actively strengthened pragmatic cooperation with ASEAN, Japan and South Korea so as to have promoted the integration and development of regional industrial chains and supply chains to make new progress and the 10+3 economic and trade cooperation has shown strong resilience and vitality.
Hu Chunhua pointed out that the current international situation is complicated and as countries around the world are facing severe tests of the security and stability of the international industrial chain and supply chain, making it more important for China, Japan, South Korea and ASEAN to further strengthen open cooperation and ensure the smooth flow of the industrial chain and supply chain, which is crucial to enhancing the ability to resist risks and promoting long-term regional prosperity.
The Vice Premier said that China is willing to work with all parties to continuously improve the construction level of the regional free trade zone, focus on strengthening the overall advantages of the regional industrial chain, further strengthen the supporting role of interconnection, and strive to cultivate new cooperation momentum.
Hu Chunhua emphasized that China has embarked on a new journey to build a modern socialist country in an all-round way, and will fully implement the new development concept, accelerate the construction of a new development pattern, focus on promoting high-quality development, and create a high-level, institutional pattern of opening up.
He welcomed entrepreneurs from all over the world to invest in China, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, and build a more secure, stable and higher-level industrial chain and supply chain cooperation.
Governor Xu Kunlin said in his video speech that Jiangsu has unswervingly implemented the strategy of opening up to the outside world so as to have enabled it to be deeply integrated into the global division of labor system.
Sunday afternoon saw the opening of 5 sub-forums that include the Forum on Jointly Building Economic and Trade Innovation and Development Demonstration Park and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Implementation Forum.
This forum is co-hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and the People's Government of Jiangsu Province.
Heads of the ministries under the State Council, heads of provincial departments and regional governments, diplomats from the embassies and consulates of ASEAN countries, Japan, South Korea guests from business associations of ASEAN, China, Japan and South Korea attended the event.
