The 6th Silk Road International Expo and China East-West Cooperation and Investment and Trade Fair opened Sunday morning in Xi'an city, northwest China’s Shaanxi province. Zhang Yizhen, Secretary of the Party Group and Chairwoman of the Jiangsu Provincial Political Consultative Conference, was present and delivered a speech.
Zhang Yizhen extended her warm congratulations to the grand opening of this year's Silk Expo. She said that over the years, the "Belt and Road" initiative has been accepted by more and more countries and regions and the "One Belt, One Road" concept has become the consensus of many countries and regions along the route.
She noted the "Belt and Road" construction has created a peaceful and stable surrounding environment, a relaxed and favorable economic environment, an efficient and coordinated regional environment, and a harmonious and inclusive humanistic environment for all countries in the world.
The Silk Road is the road of peace, the road of opening up and the road of innovation, said Zhang Yizheng, adding that Jiangsu will take this Silk Expo as an opportunity to make friends from all over the world, make great plans for development, and contribute wisdom and strength to building a better earth home.
Zhang Yizhen pointed out that Jiangsu will continue to deepen industrial cooperation, expecting the industrial cooperation model of "Jiangsu enterprise + external resources", "Jiangsu market + external products", "Jiangsu headquarters + external base", "Jiangsu R&D + external manufacturing" to blossom in more regions around the world.
She said that Jiangsu looks forward to further intensifying inter-provincial and international cooperation in key fields of equipment manufacturing, electronic information, biomedicine, cultural tourism, finance and logistics, energy and chemical industry, and new materials, so as to achieve complementary advantages and win-win cooperation.
The Chairwoman of the Jiangsu Provincial Political Consultative Conference said Jiangsu will continue to expand its opening to the outside world, give full play to Jiangsu’s advantages of being at the intersection of the "Belt and Road", expand its opening to the east, and deepen its opening to the west, join hands with Shaanxi to build infrastructure, share carrier platforms, jointly cultivate open markets, and work together to create a large pattern of land and sea linkages and two-way mutual aid between the east and the west.
She remarked that Jiangsu will effectively strengthen talent exchanges, international talent exchanges and technical cooperation.
Zhang Yizhen said under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core, and under the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, Jiangsu is willing to take advantage of the open platform built by the Silk Fair to take difficulties as challenges and turn crises into opportunities to jointly create a peaceful, prosperous and bright future and share the fruits of human development and civilization.
