East China’s Jiangsu province will accelerate the construction of a world-class marine and offshore advanced manufacturing cluster, according to a document of policies and measures released recently by the provincial government.
According to the policies and measures, Jiangsu will focus on improving the industrial technology innovation capability, promoting the intelligent transformation and digital transformation of the industry, and increasing financial support to further enhance the competitiveness of Jiangsu's shipbuilding and marine equipment industry.
Aiming at the goal of building a world-class advanced manufacturing cluster, by 2025, Jiangsu will cultivate a luxury cruise ship manufacturing enterprise, a large-scale LNG carrier manufacturing enterprise and a new oil and gas equipment manufacturing enterprise, and create a number of mainstream ship-type brand-name products while creating individual champion enterprises and a batch of high-quality development demonstration areas for ship and offshore engineering equipment.
Jiangsu will also strengthen the division of labor and cooperation, complementary advantages and coordinated development in the entire industrial chain in key links such as high-end capacity building, R&D capacity building, and financial support in the industrial chain, strengthen policy guarantees, promote various elements to gather in enterprises, and create a favorable environment for the development of the shipbuilding industry and jointly promote the high-quality development of the shipbuilding industry.
