"If it weren't for Yangcheng Lake crabs, why live in Suzhou." The long-awaited Yangcheng Lake hairy crabs are finally about to be served on the dinner table as the weather gets colder.
The harvest season for Yangcheng Lake hairy crabs this year is expected to kick off on September 22 or 23. Afterwards the crabs will be available on the market gradually. Their price will depend on the overall output.
Affected by the heat wave, Yangcheng Lake hairy crabs showed signs of delaying molting and growth this year, and the mature period will be later than usual. Their size is smaller than the same period in previous years, but will return to normal as long as the temperature remains steady. Considering the stocking density rose this year, the overall yield is not expected to decrease.
