Wu Zhenglong, secretary of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee of the Communist Party of China, met in Nanjing on Wednesday with Kuok Khoon Hong, chairman of the board of directors of Singapore's Wilmar International Group.
On behalf of the provincial party committee and the provincial government, Wu Zhenglong welcomed Kuok Khoon Hong for his visit to Jiangsu, and thanked Wilmar International Group for its long-term support and important contributions to Jiangsu.
Wu Zhenglong said that Jiangsu is an economic powerhouse with strengths in opening-up, agricultural production and population and has a solid industrial foundation, abundant scientific and educational talent resources, a high degree of openness, and a huge market space, thereby entailing huge consumption potential and unlimited business opportunities in promoting high-quality development and creating a high-quality life for the people.
Noting that Wilmar International Group is one of the world’s largest palm oil producers, the CPC provincial chief hoped that the two sides will deepen cooperation in the development of modern agriculture, guaranteed supply of grain and oil, green and low-carbon, and achieve a higher level of mutual benefit and win-win results.
He hoped that Wilmar International Group will invest in more major projects in Jiangsu, adding that Jiangsu will create a market-oriented, legalized and internationalized first-class business environment, and support Wilmar International's development and growth in Jiangsu.
Guo Kongfeng briefed the host on Wilmar International's investment in Jiangsu and its follow-up development plan after extending his gratitude to Jiangsu for its strong support for the development of Wilmar International Group.
He said that Wilmar International is full of confidence in China's development and full of expectations for Jiangsu's development, adding that Wilmar International will give full play to its advantages, further increase investment, deepen cooperation areas, and better contribute to Jiangsu’s high-quality development.
