9月5日,西交利物浦大学太仓校区正式启用。
Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) Taicang Campus officially opened yesterday. The launching ceremony also witnessed the inauguration of XJTLU Innovation Demonstration Base for Yangtze River Delta National Technology Innovation Center and XJTLU World Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Hub, and the opening of XJTLU Global Entrepreneurship Dream-chaser Competition.
Covering an area of around 364,000 square meters and a construction area of some 497,000 square meters, XJTLU Taicang Campus can accommodate up to 10,000 students and 1,200 staff members. Seven schools, namely the School of Intelligent Manufacturing, the School of Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Computing, the School of Industrial Finance, the School of Intelligent Robots, the School of Internet of Things, the School of Cultural Science and Technology, and the School of Chips, have been set up.
At the campus, seven U-shaped buildings for industry-themed schools connect to a ring-shaped building. Landscape elements including trails, water features and green areas, make the space inside the ring both usable and attractive. The project has won a prize at the World Architecture News (WAN) awards and earned a LEED Gold certification.
Under the school plan, more than 2,000 high-level innovative talents with an international perspective will graduate from the campus each year starting 2025.
