Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, Yancheng has been committed to green transformation by promoting high-quality economic development and high-quality ecological environment in its efforts to become the vanguard of high-quality development in the coastal areas.
On September 3, the Honeycomb Energy Power Battery Project achieved mass production. The project is the first provincial-level major project to land in the Yangtze River Delta Integrated Industrial Development Base.
The second phase of the project, with a total investment of 10 billion yuan, is expected to be put into operation in the first half of 2023 to become an important core industrial base for PHEV and short knife battery production in Jiangsu.
In the past ten years, leading new energy companies from all over the country and the world have gathered in Yancheng with the advancement of the integration of the Yangtze River Delta and the high-quality development of the coastal areas, including Honeycomb Energy.
Yancheng has registered 145 enterprises above designated size in the new energy industry, with an average annual growth rate of more than 20% in output value, becoming the first "ten million kilowatt new energy power generation city" in the Yangtze River Delta, which has promoted the sustained development of leading industries such as new energy, electronic information, automobile and steel.
In July 2019, Yancheng Yellow and Bohai Sea Wetland was inscribed on the World Heritage List, becoming the first natural heritage site in Jiangsu and filling the gap of China's coastal wetland type of world heritage.
Yancheng has made greater efforts to protect and restore this precious wetland, completed the construction of one million mu of ecological shelterbelt along the coast, and protected 62% of the natural wetlands.
Yancheng took the lead in building a global bus network in the province, with high-speed rail access to every county, and the country's first super virtual rail transit put into operation.
In the past ten years, Yancheng recorded a regional GDP of more than 700 billion yuan, and the per capita income of urban residents jumped from 22,520 yuan to 43,787 yuan. It was awarded the honorary titles of National Forest City and National Ecological Civilization Construction Demonstration Zone.
