East China’s Jiangsu province has stepped up its efforts for the construction of major water conservancy projects since the start of this year in a bid to improve the local ecological environment.
Jiangsu Jurong Pumped Storage Power Station has completed the handover of the underground powerhouse and the sub-powerhouse and the working face of the construction section of Unit 1 and Unit 2. With nearly 30 builders carrying out the preliminary construction of the unit installation, the work has entered a new stage, transitioning from civil construction to unit installation.
The project has become the world's tallest pumped-storage power station reservoir basin dam, the world's tallest asphalt concrete face rockfill dam, and the world's first-largest filling-scale pumped-storage power station.
Jiangsu is accelerating the waterway improvement project of the Gaoyou Section of the Beijing-Hangzhou Canal.
In a slope in the Jieshou section, the green grass extends from the bottom of the slope to the top of the slope, which is more vibrant than the original stone slope.
The construction unit adopted the technology of "granulated concrete", which allows grass to grow in the gaps in the concrete.
Compared with ordinary concrete, granulated concrete has about 30% more voids on the basis of maintaining strength, providing space for grass to grow.
Through the application of this technology, 5 kilometers of green berms will be added on both sides of the waterway of the Gaoyou section of the Beijing-Hangzhou Canal, making the canal more ecological.
The constructors are stepping up the construction of the Jieshou service area, a key project of the waterway renovation project of the Gaoyou Section of the Beijing-Hangzhou Canal. The service area will have 11 2,000-ton berths.
The waterway improvement project of the Gaoyou Section of the Beijing-Hangzhou Canal, including the ecological revetment, anchorage, and water service area, is about 42.5 kilometers long. The project will be submitted for acceptance by November 30.
