The Standing Committee of Jiangsu Provincial People's Congress held a feedback meeting Sunday on the suggestions submitted by the deputies to the Provincial People's Congress on carbon neutralization and carbon peaking.
Fei Gaoyun, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and executive vice governor, said that in May, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress held a meeting on the proposals submitted by the deputies to the Provincial People's Congress to promote carbon peaking and carbon neutralization. The provincial government and relevant provincial departments have taken measures to promote the implementation of the proposals.
He said Jiangsu will conscientiously implement the decision and deployment of the Party Central Committee and the State Council on carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, follow the work arrangements of the provincial party committee and the requirements of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress, implement the new development concept completely, accurately and comprehensively, correctly understand and grasp the scientific connotation of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, and incorporate carbon peaking and carbon neutrality into the overall economic and social development
Fei Gaoyun noted that Jiangsu will strive to adjust the industrial structure, energy structure, accelerate the green and low-carbon transformation in transportation, housing and construction, to ensure that green becomes the distinctive color of the province's high-quality development, and strive to contribute to the nation's goal of achieving carbon peaking and carbon neutrality as scheduled.
Fan Jinlong, deputy director and deputy secretary of the party group of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress, pointed out that the provincial government leaders have attached great importance to the proposals made by the deputies to the provincial people's congress that concern the general situation of economic and social development and the vital interests of the people.
