Thursday marked the 73rd anniversary of the founding of the Chinese Young Pioneers. Young pioneers across the province organized various activities such as taking the oath to join the team, preaching and experiencing, hoping to lead young pioneers to inherit the red gene, and aspire to grow into new people of the era who shoulder the heavy responsibility of national rejuvenation while experiencing the great achievements of the new era.
On Thursday morning, bright red scarves fluttered in the wind on the playground of Huai’an Jijialou Primary School. 780 young pioneers swore solemnly by lining up to sing the “Team Song of the Chinese Young Pioneers”, and raising their right hands under the guidance of the teacher.
In the solemn ceremony, they gained a deep understanding of their mission and responsibility as young pioneers of the new era.
Wang Yibei, a fifth grader of Huai’an Jijialou Primary School, said that as a young pioneer, she must be strict with herself in the future, be a good teenager in the new era, and make her contributions to the motherland in the future.
In addition to taking the oath of joining the team, team meetings, team lessons and practical experience activities were organized throughout the province to guide young pioneers to listen to and follow the Party.
The young pioneers in Zhenjiang City expressed their aspiration to welcome the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China through poetry recitation “Horn”, dance “China in the Lights” and chorus “Country”.
Authorities in the cities of Huai’an and Taizhou invited pioneers and role models such as Jiangsu Good Teenagers and Good Samaritans of China to visit school campuses and share the past scene of their joining the team of young pioneers in the hope of encouraging the students to cherish the present time and study hard.
Teachers in Shuyang County told revolutionary stories in a bid to instruct the students to love the motherland, work hard and pass on the red gene from generation to generation with practical actions.
