20 tankers loaded with LNG left the “Green Energy Port” of CNOOC Yancheng, marking that the largest LNG reserve base in China has officially entered the phase of liquid delivery, adding new momentum to the comprehensive utilization of natural gas in Jiangsu.
The first batch of 20 tankers filled with 400 tons of liquefied natural gas will be transported to many cities in the province, including Nanjing, Suzhou and Nantong, in response to the arrival of the gas peak this winter.
Suppose one cubic meter of LNG can be gasified into 625 cubic meters of natural gas, this batch of natural gas can meet the gas demand of 29000 households for one month.
The energy base will also start to supply liquefied gas to Anhui and Henan with expected daily delivery of 200 tankers of 4000 tons of liquefied gas, so as to ensure the stable supply of energy in Jiangsu, Henan and Anhui.
The outward transportation of liquefied gas will greatly enhance the daily and emergency natural gas supply and complementary and mutual insurance capacity in East China, and boost the optimization and upgrading of the national energy structure.
Compared with pipeline transportation, tanker-based liquid delivery is of high flexibility and wide coverage by being able to deliver liquefied natural gas to downstream users regularly, quantitatively and fixedly, thereby making it an emergency supplement of pipeline natural gas.
Lin Gang, Deputy General Manager of Jiangsu Branch of CNOOC, said in the interview that they will earnestly implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, always bear in mind the founding mission of “contributing clean energy and creating a better life”, and fulfill the mission of “ensuring energy security and contributing to the power of CNOOC” by giving full play to the role of Yancheng Green Energy Port in ensuring the supply of energy and strengthening this year’s “peak winter” energy supply for the safety of people’s livelihood gas, so that people can spend a warm and safe winter.
