The provincial government held a video conference Wednesday on stabilizing economic growth to study and analyze the current economic situation, deploy and arrange key tasks for the next stage, and strive for the best results of the year to lay the foundation for the work next year. Governor Xu Kunlin presided over the meeting and delivered a speech.
Xu Kunlin pointed out that since the beginning of this year, in the face of complex and severe domestic and international situations and the impact of multiple unexpected factors, Jiangsu has effectively coordinated epidemic prevention and control and economic and social development, stricken a balance between development and security, and continued to achieve economic recovery against the pressure from multiple tests.
He said that the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China has pointed out the goal, direction and path for promoting the current and future work, adding that all localities should study, publicize and implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China as the primary political task and long-term strategic task, ensure that it is implemented in all aspects of the whole process of government work, transform it into a strong driving force for economic and social development, spare no effort to prevent epidemic, stabilize the economy, and ensure security, and resolutely shoulder the major responsibility of making more contributions.
Xu Kunlin stressed that we should always tighten the strings of epidemic prevention and control, pay close attention to the measures of "prevention first, early detection and quick disposal", strictly and efficiently implement "inspection upon arrival", resolutely prevent the risk of inbound transmission, continue to strengthen monitoring and early warning, make solid emergency preparedness, and firmly hold the bottom line that there will be no large-scale epidemic outbreak.
He called for strengthening agricultural production and construction of farmland and water conservancy in autumn and winter, promoting construction of high standard farmland, consolidating the foundation of grain production, and ensuring stable supply and price of important agricultural products.
Xu Kunlin asked all departments to plan the development goals and key tasks for next year as early as possible to ensure a good start and firmly grasp the initiative of economic and social development.
