Over the past two years, water conservancy system in east Chinas Jiangsu province has taken General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions made during his inspection tour to the Jiangdu Water Conservancy Hub as a powerful driving force to promote the leapfrog development and write a new chapter in water conservancy.

On November 13, 2020, General Secretary Xi Jinping inspected Jiangdu Water Conservancy Project, demanding efforts to ensure that the East Route of South to North Water Transfer Project becomes the lifeline for optimizing water resource allocation, ensuring people's drinking water safety, reviving the ecological environment of rivers and lakes, and unblocking the economic cycle from south to north.

On the second anniversary of General Secretary Xi Jinping's inspection tour to Jiangdu Water Control Project, the "Jiangdu Water Control Project Digital Pumping Station" project was successfully included in the excellent practical achievements of 2022 Digital Jiangsu Construction. Supported by cloud computing, big data, the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence and digital twin technology, this system can receive data feedback and make decisions at the first time, realize standardized and refined management of the pump station, and ensure that a river of clean water is sent to the north.

In the past two years, the provincial water conservancy system has kept in mind the General Secretarys instructions and worked hard to achieve results.

Recently, the winter water transfer of the Xinmeng River has also been launched, which will alleviate the shortage of water resources in the Taihu Lake area, and is of great significance for further refining and strengthening the control of the Xinmeng River.

Over the past two years, Jiangsu has practiced the General Secretary's philosophy on water control in the new era, implemented the national river strategy, and solved a number of water conservancy problems that have not been solved for a long time.

There used to be more than 7000 houseboats on Hongze Lake, the fourth largest freshwater lake in China. The Provincial Water Resources Department, together with the local governments along the lake, has taken the renovation of Hongze Lake houseboats and catering boats and the settlement of fishermen ashore as important measures to improve the water environment of the lake, and has arranged for nearly 20000 boat fishermen to settle ashore.
