Jiangsu Provincial Government held a virtual meeting with China Britain Business Council on Tuesday. Governor Xu Kunlin attended the meeting in Nanjing and conducted dialogue and exchanges with businesspersons from Britain.
The China Britain Business Council, as an economic and trade promotion organization for China jointly supported by the British government and the business community, has nearly 1000 member units and has played an important role in promoting China-UK economic and trade cooperation.
Xu Kunlin expressed his thanks to the China Britain Business Council and the representatives of various enterprises for their concern, support and suggestions on Jiangsu's development, adding that the 20th National Congress of the CPC mapped out a grand blueprint for promoting the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation with Chinese path to modernization.
The Governor welcomed British-funded enterprises to deepen practical cooperation with Jiangsu and actively participate in the modernization of Jiangsu.
He hoped that the China Britain Business Council would continue to play its role as a bridge and link, encourage more member enterprises to invest and develop in Jiangsu, share China's super large market, industrial digital transformation, and green low-carbon development opportunities, and jointly create an open and prosperous future.
Xu Kunlin said that Jiangsu will resolutely implement the national high-level decision and deployment of opening up, promote the liberalization and facilitation of investment and trade, accelerate the construction of new advantages of institutional opening up, support foreign investors to expand investment cooperation, optimize the services of foreign-funded enterprises, and create a first-class business environment and better conditions so as to provide broad space for the development of foreign-funded enterprises in Jiangsu.
The businesspersons of the United Kingdom said that the British business community has always been paying close attention to the development of Jiangsu, adding that Jiangsu has always been committed to high-level openness and high-quality development by making efforts to build an industrial science and technology innovation center with global influence, an advanced manufacturing base with international competitiveness, and a two-way open hub with world cohesion.
China Britain Business Council looks forward to further strengthening investment and trade exchanges and cooperation with Jiangsu, constantly improving the level of cooperation, and working together to achieve a higher level of mutual benefit and common development.
Lord James Sassoon, President of the China Britain Business Council, delivered a speech. Vice Governor Fang Wei and Provincial Government Secretary General Chen Jiangang attended the meeting.
