This year marks the 50th anniversary of the normalization of China-Japan diplomatic relations, 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and South Korea, China-Japan Cultural and Sports Exchange Promotion Year, and China-South Korea Year of Cultural Exchanges. Themed on the crafts and culture of China, Japan and South Korea, 2022 Suzhou International Day officially kicked off today.
China-Japan-South Korea Crafts and Cultural Exhibition is currently being held at Suzhou Museum West, showcasing 150 pieces of traditional crafts and friendly gifts from the three countries.
Various exchange activities, including exhibitions, concerts, traditional cultural courses, touring exhibitions of teenager painting, and cultural and sports carnivals, will be held in the coming weeks, bringing an East Asian cultural feast to residents.
As a part of the supporting cultural exchange activities of Suzhou International Day: China-Japan-South Korea Crafts and Cultural Exhibition, "China-Japan-South Korea Traditional Culture Experience Class" opened its first session today at Suzhou Museum West. Participants threaded fan sticks, painted fan leaves, and felt the charm of elegant Suzhou fan.
The Class will continue inviting teachers of traditional crafts of China, Japan and South Korea. Another five sessions on Jeonju fan, ikebana, Korean paper folding, wagashi and traditional Chinese medicine sachet will be hosted to make traditional craft culture become the bridge that connects people around the world.
