The 33rd Meeting of the Standing Committee of the 13th Provincial People's Congress opened in Nanjing on Tuesday. Wu Zhenglong, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Director of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress, presided over the first plenary meeting.
Present at the meeting were vice chairpersons Li Xiaomin, Fan Jinlong, Wang Yanwen, Xu Zhongzi, Ma Qiulin, Liu Handong, Wei Guoqiang, Qu Futian, Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress, and Secretary-General Chen Mengmeng.
Also present at the meeting were Hu Guangjie, Vice Governor, Xia Daohu, President of the Provincial Court, Liu Hua, Procurator General of the Provincial Procuratorate, and the head of the Provincial Supervision Commission.
Efforts should be made to enhance political stance, gain insight into the decisive significance that the Party has established Comrade Xi Jinping’s core position on the Party Central Committee and in the Party as a whole and defined the guiding role of the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for the New Era from the political height of strengthening the four consciousnesses and the four self-confidences, safeguarding the authority of the CPC Central Committee and getting united around the centralized and unified leadership the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core, according to a statement released after the meeting.
The Head of the Legislative Affairs Committee of the Provincial People's Congress made a report on the drafts of the Regulations of Jiangsu Province on the Prevention and Control of Pollution from Ships along the Yangtze River, Regulations of Jiangsu Province on the Prevention and Control of Exhaust Pollution from Motor Vehicles and Non-road Mobile Machinery, Regulations of Jiangsu Province on the Promotion of Rural Revitalization, and Regulations of Jiangsu Province on Medical Security.
The Chairman's Meeting of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress submitted a proposal on the drafts of the Decision on Convening the First Session of the Fourteenth People's Congress of Jiangsu Province,Decision on Strict Implementation of Land and Space Planning to Provide Space Guarantee for Jiangsu's High quality Development, Decision on Promoting Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality.
The provincial government submitted proposals for deliberation on the revised draft of the Regulations of Jiangsu Province on Work Safety, the revised draft of the Regulations of Jiangsu Province on Reservoir Management, the draft of the Land and Space Planning of Jiangsu Province between 2021 and 2035, and the draft of the Decision on Strengthening the Emergency Management System and Capacity Building.
The standing committees of the People's Congress of Nanjing and some other prefectural cities submitted 19 laws, regulations and regulatory decisions to the meeting for review and approval.
Liu Handong, Vice chairman of the Provincial People's Congress, presided over a symposium to solicit opinions and suggestions on rural revitalization, food security, SME financing and elderly care services.
