East China’s Jiangsu province has made every effort to improve the quality of elderly care services by following General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions put forth in the report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China on the implementation of the national strategy of actively responding to the aging population, the development of elderly care undertakings and industries, the optimization of services for the elderly, and the promotion of basic elderly care services for all the elderly.
Early in the morning, the staff of Liushuwan Comprehensive Elderly Care Service Center in Qingjiangpu District, Huai'an City were busy preparing the lunch for the elderly. In order to take good care of the elderly, the meals in the nursing home are required to be nutritionally balanced, but also soft and glutinous.

"We prepare 100 lunches for the elderly every noon, including two meat dishes, two vegetarian dishes and one soup. We have provided some preferential policies for the elderly. We charge 10 yuan for people in their 70s and 8 yuan for people in their 80s," said Guo Wenxia, Head of Liushuwan Comprehensive Elderly Care Service Center, Qingjiangpu District, Huai'an City.
At noon, the elders came here to have lunch one after another. The dishes smell delicious, and the elders chatted happily while eating.

In order to take care of the elderly and the elderly with mobility difficulties, the elderly care service center provides free meal delivery services to the elderly living around.

The elderly care service center has been welcomed by the elderly for more than two months since its opening. In order to better satisfy the elderly, the civil affairs department has invited representatives of the elders to hold meetings on a regular basis for opinion collection.
