East China’s Jiangsu province has stepped up the construction of major investment projects and ensured their smooth progress through every possible effort so as to fulfill goals for social and economic development. JSBC has the story.

Constructors for the Zhangjiagang-Jingjiang-Rugao Yangtze River Bridge, the world's largest span suspension bridge, completed on Saturday the steel shell assembly of the north anchor caisson foundation of the North Channel Bridge.

Anchorage is the most important load-bearing structure of the bridge, just like a "fixed cable artifact".

As the bottom part of the caisson foundation, the steel shell is internally equipped with 36 well holes, which is composed of 79 steel structure sections, with a total weight of 2978 tons and a field shaped structure. The first assembly section is the core positioning reference section in the caisson foundation, and the assembly accuracy reaches millimeter level.

This is currently the largest open caisson structure in the domestic highway bridge field.Our steel shell has a total of 79 sections,30% of which will be completed by the end of this year.

The catwalk erection of Nanjing Xianxin Yangtze River Bridge has been completed recently, creating conditions for the erection of the main cable of the bridge.

The catwalk, known as the suspended "lifeline", is a temporary construction access road erected under the main cable and parallel to the main cable line during the construction of suspension bridges, just like a "scaffold" suspended on the river.

The suspension bridge has two catwalks, 3047m long and 4.2m wide on one side, connecting two 263.8m high main towers with a main span of 1760m on both sides of the bridge.

Constructors of the Haimen Taicang Yangtze River Tunnel, the world’s longest river bottom shield tunnel with the largest section diameter, completed the first concrete pouring of diaphragm wall.

The construction of the middle tower columns of the north and south cable towers of the Changzhou Taixing Yangtze River Bridge has progressed smoothly, and nearly half of the steel truss girder erection of the special waterway bridge has been completed.

The north and south anchor splay saddles of Longtan Yangtze River Bridge were accurately positioned with the superstructure construction carried out in an all-round way.

The right line shield tunneling of Jiangyin Jingjiang Yangtze River Tunnel broke through 3000 meters with the left line shield tunneling smoothly passing through the lowest point of the tunnel.

A total of 9 bridges or tunnels are under construction at the same time in the 400km Jiangsu section of the Yangtze River, with the largest investment and construction scale in history.
