A new water bus line is to be put into service around Spring Festival holiday on a trial basis for three months. The ship will leave four times per day, and is capable of carrying 50 passengers per trip.
With a total length of nearly 7 kilometers, the water bus line starts from Xiangmen Wharf, passes through Panmen Wharf and ends at Xumen Wharf. Passengers will be able to admire a number of attractions during the one-hour trip, including Dongyuan Garden, City Wall Museum, Panmen Gate andBaihua Islet. The line will also string together Xiangmen, Panmen and Xinshiqiao rail transit stations as well as several bus stops.
"The route will not only allow residents and tourists to appreciate Suzhou's historical features and scenery on their way, but also alleviate the traffic pressure between Renheng and Nanmen business circles," said Xu Jinsheng, General Manager of Suzhou Water Tourism Development Co., Ltd.
