Huai'an has always attached great importance to the prevention and control of geological hazards and strictly implemented prevention and control tasks. The departments concerned deeply promoted comprehensive management of potential geological hazard points with technical measures such as slope cutting, anti-slide piles, retaining walls, and counterfort virescence. They also guided engineering management to eliminate the threat and thus gradually reduce the stock of potential geological hazard points, for which people's lives and properties were protected.
In recent years, Huai'an Municipal Bureau of Natural Resources and Planning has guided Xuyi County and Hongze District to successively complete the management of eleven potential geological hazard points, including Chelutou in Heqiao Town, Xuyi County, Senhai Haoting Community at Xucheng Street, and Anhuai Temple in Laozishan Town, Hongze District. Experts were organized to check and accept the completed management projects of four potential points such as Building 46 of Zhanlongjian Community at Xucheng Street in Xuyi County and Chestnut Group in Tianquanhu Town, with timely application to the Department of Natural Resources of Jiangsu Province for verification of the potential geological hazard points that have passed the acceptance and have been eliminated.
