More than 90% of migrant workers have returned to work in Jiangsu after spending the Spring Festival holiday in their hometowns. Human resources and social security departments at all levels in Jiangsu have made every effort to promote the stability of employment for stable economic growth.
The human resources and social security department in Zhenjiang sent chartered buses to northwest China’s Shaanxi province to pick up 160 migrant workers in an effort to facilitate their return to work in Jiangsu. The workers were presented with large gift packages that include wool quilts and daily necessities.
133 migrant workers from Lushan County, Henan Province and Heze City, Shandong Province started to work at enterprises after returning to Lianyungang by train.
"In the past, it was difficult to buy tickets when I returned to Lianyungang after the Spring Festival, and I had to change trains halfway. Now I can get on the bus in the morning and arrive at Lianyungang in the afternoon, which saves us a lot of time," said Zhang Fajing, a migrant worker.
From February 2 to February 15, the railway department opened an additional passenger train from Zhengzhou to Kunshan. At the terminal station of Kunshan, local authorities sent volunteers to the platform, the exit and the south square to organize and guide the departure and transfer.
"It's convenient to come back. The new year celebration is over, we should devote ourselves to new work in the new year. I really like Kunshan, so I came back," said Cui Menghan, a migrant worker from Henan.
In order to meet the employment needs, Jiangsu has organized various recruitment activities, fully opened the public human resources market and part-time job market at all levels, and also organized on-site job fairs at parks, supermarkets, markets, stations and some other places.
At a job fair in Xinghua, 230 enterprises provided more than 8000 job vacancies. 30 enterprises in Lianshui County provided nearly 4000 vacancies, and extended recruitment olive branch to job seekers nearby. The job fairs in Huai'an have attracted a large number of returning college students by providing sufficient job vacancies and preferential salaries.
Gong Jianpei, Recruitment Director of Huai'an Jietai New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., said that the company will recruit about 2000 people in Huai'an. The job vacancies they provide include technical R&D and marketing functions with an annual salary varying from about 80000 yuan to 230000 yuan.
"I submitted my resume and left my contact information. I hope I can get better development opportunities after passing the interview," said Zheng Yanfeng, a would-be college graduate.
