Suzhou launched China-Europe rail freight service in 2012. With such advantages as fast transportation and low costs, the service soon became a top choice for companies in Suzhou that need to export and import goods.

During the past decade, Suzhou has achieved leapfrog development in China-Europe freight trains. The number of annual trips has increased from just one to over 500, with routes covering 17 countries and regions. The one-way freight line from Suzhou to Poland at the beginning has developed into multiple two-way lines that pass through ports such as Manzhouli, Erenhot, Alashankou, Horgos, Suifenhe, Pingxiang, and Mohan.
