The manufacturing industry in Jiangsu province posted an annual growth of 5.1% last year, ranking first in the country for two years in a row, according to a provincial working conference on industry and information technology development.
In 2022, the manufacturing industry contributed 37.3% to the province’s regional GDP, ranking first in the country. The province reported a 66.4 high-level and in-depth integration of informatization and industrialization in 2022, ranking first in the country for eight consecutive years and indicating the rapid development of industrial digitization and digital industrialization.
The output value of lithium-ion batteries, new energy vehicles, photovoltaic equipment and components increased by 92.6%, 67.9% and 58.5% respectively year on year.
The automobile production increased by 29% year on year, ending a five-year downturn.
The province has continuously consolidated and deepened its cutting edge in advanced manufacturing clusters by adding four national clusters that include Suzhou Biomedical and high-end medical devices to add to a total of 10, ranking first in the country.
The province also approved 15 provincial-level demonstration zones for high-quality development of manufacturing industry and increased three national demonstration bases for new industrialization, adding to a total of 30, ranking first in the country.
Jiangsu reported a new leap in industrial innovation capacity. The key common technologies including the integrated circuit characteristic process and packaging test innovation center have reached the international advanced level by increasing nine national enterprise technology centers to add up to 138. 191 enterprises recorded operating revenue of more than 10 billion yuan, a net gain of 19. the province also increased 424 national little giant enterprises and 48 individual champions in the manufacturing industry, reaching a total of 709 and 186 respectively.
