Deputies to the National People's Congress and members of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference have made every effort to collected public opinions and made suggestions for high-quality development and people's livelihood. In today’s program, we will visit Song Qing, a member of the CPPCC.

Song Qing, member of the National Committee of CPPCC and director of the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences of Suzhou University of Science and Technology, has been committed to the study of ecological civilization construction.

At the 2018 NPC and CPPCC, Song Qing put forward a proposal to establish and improve the implementation mechanism of environmental remediation in environmental public interest litigation, which was highly valued by the Supreme People's Court, the Supreme People's Procuratorate and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment.

This year, Song Qing's focus is still on the practical problems in ecological environment protection. During the investigation in Taihu Lake, she found that the deep promotion of the fishing ban in Taihu Lake has effectively protected the aquatic biodiversity of Taihu Lake and the overall water quality is stable and improving.

At the upcoming annual session of the CPPCC, she will propose to adopt the "one water and one policy" approach to develop ecological fisheries to ensure the tranquility of Taihu Lake and the harmony between people and water.

"It is hoped that the local government can explore effective ways to achieve more sustainable improvement of the water ecosystem in the Taihu Lake basin and promote the sustainable dynamic balance of the entire water ecosystem of the Taihu Lake. I will, as always, make a CPPCC member's due contribution to the realization of the modernization of harmonious coexistence between human and nature." Song Qing, CPPCC member, director of the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences of Suzhou University of Science and Technology said.
