For more than eight years, Jiangsu Institute of Industry and Research has adhered to the General Secretary’s instructions and requirements to be a pioneer in the pilot field of scientific and technological system reform and put forward the construction and operation mode of "team holding, asset-light operation" professional research institute, which is a first time achievement in the country.
The scientific research team has been given not only the operation right of the research institute, but also the ownership, transfer right and profit right of the achievements, which has greatly stimulated the innovation enthusiasm of the scientific research personnel. Over the past eight years, focusing on the major strategic needs of the country, Jiangsu has significantly improved its scientific and technological innovation capability by building major innovation platforms including Suzhou Laboratory, Zijinshan Laboratory, and the Taihu Lake Laboratory and producing major achievements such as the "Endeavor" manned submersible, Sunway the TaihuLight Supercomputing.
