The Thai tourism authority has organized a group promotion tour in Shanghai to entice tourists from Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shanghai and Anhui.
This is Thailand's first tourism promotion activity in China since the outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic three years ago. 62 companies from Thailand, including hotels, resorts, tourism companies, tourist attractions and flight routes, held business talks with more than 70 tourism enterprises in the Yangtze River Delta, aiming to accelerate the recovery of the tourism industry and provide tourists with valuable and meaningful travel experience. According to the statistics of major online tourism platforms, within three days after the official opening of China's outbound policy, the number of travel bookings placed by tourists from the Chinese mainland for travel to Thailand has reached 80% against the first quarter of 2022. In 2023, it is estimated that 300000 Chinese tourists will visit Thailand in the first quarter, with more than 5 million tourists in the whole year.
