East China’s Jiangsu province has given full play to the supportive role of imports and exports in the economy by introducing a series of policies and measures to ensure stability and improve quality so as to further expand its opening up and global connectivity and achieve high-quality development and make a good start for the new journey.
Jianyou Biochemistry, located in Jiangbei New Area of Nanjing, is the largest heparin export enterprise in China.
With overseas orders hitting new highs recently, the company has stepped up production by starting production lines at full capacity. The efficient customs clearance policy ensures that products can be directly transported to the dock for export after being rolled off the production line.
“Some products do not require on-site inspection and the customs can release them in real time. Some products require on-site inspection and the customs will complete the inspection in our company's warehouse within about 48 hours,” said Yang Jiannan, Commercial Director of Nanjing Jianyou Biochemical Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.
The efficient customs clearance efficiency has benefited from the "Several Policies and Measures to Promote the Overall Improvement of Economic Operation First" which included arranging international business flights, organizing enterprises to win orders abroad, accelerating the progress of export tax rebate, and strengthening financial support such as credit and credit insurance.
In January-February, Nanjing recorded a total import and export value of 92.54 billion yuan, accounting for 12.3% of the provincial total.
“While continuously improving the level of customs clearance facilitation, we have further promoted the construction of ‘smart customs’. With the aid of reform dividends, we have assisted the high-quality development of Nanjing's foreign trade with a high-quality port business environment,” said Zheng Xin, the Deputy Director of Jiangbei Office of Jinling Customs.
The Zhenjiang Branch of the Council for the Promotion of International Trade has organized hundreds of foreign trade enterprises in the hardware tools, medical devices, and glasses industries to attend professional exhibitions around the world. The branch council will focus on the organization of local enterprises to participate in exhibitions in BRI countries, BRICS countries and markets in Latin America and Africa.
Suzhou Customs has assisted local enterprises in actively enjoying the preferences from Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement by conducting RCEP publicity and training, guiding the enterprises to fully utilize policy preferences, and giving a strong impetus for enterprises to win orders and expand the market.
“Our company has won a total of 242 orders under the RCEP framework, with exports accounting for 42% of the total export volume and 45% of the total export amount. In total, we have reduced import tariffs by 300 thousand US dollars for our customers. The reduction of import tariffs has greatly increased our cooperation with our customers,” said Guo Yueying, the Deputy General Manager of Kunshan Aluminum Industry Co., Ltd.
Towards the end of this year, Jiangsu will also focus on supporting enterprises to participate in 206 overseas offline exhibitions, helping them expand the market, maintain orders, and fully promote the overall improvement of economic performance.
