Xin Changxing, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, met in Nanjing on Wednesday with Liu Zhaoxuan, Chairman of Taiwan-based council of the summit for entrepreneurs across the Taiwan Strait.
On behalf of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and Government, Xin Changxing welcomed Chairman Liu Zhaoxuan and his delegation, and expressed gratitude to the Taiwan-based council of the summit for entrepreneurs across the Taiwan Strait for its long-term strong support for the development of Jiangsu.
He spoke of the in-depth exchange with Mr. Ma Ying-jeou in Nanjing when Ma embarked on his mainland trip two weeks ago, adding that it is the desire of Taiwanese compatriots to exchange and interact with the mainland, as well as the profound friendship of "one family on both sides of the Taiwan Strait".
The CPC Provincial Chief said Chairman Liu Zhaoxuan's visit to Jiangsu and attendance at the Chairman's Meeting of the summit for entrepreneurs across the Taiwan Strait will inject new impetus into the exchange, cooperation, and integrated development of Jiangsu and Taiwan.
Noting that Jiangsu is one of the regions with the most intensive investment from Taiwanese businessmen and the most active cross-strait exchanges in mainland China, Xin Changxing said Taiwanese enterprises are an important driving force for the promotion of high-quality development in Jiangsu.
He said Jiangsu will fully implement the overall strategy of the Communist Party of China to solve the Taiwan issue in the new era, make greater efforts to implement various preferential measures for Taiwanese enterprises, support the deepening of mutual benefit and win-win situation in the industrial community of Jiangsu and Taiwan, and support enterprises in Jiangsu and Taiwan to share the opportunities brought by Jiangsu's modernization drive.
Xin remarked that the Cross Strait Entrepreneurs Summit has become the most influential platform for cross-strait economic exchange and cooperation, and compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait will work together to strengthen the Chinese nation's economy as an important channel for achieving the Chinese Dream.
Jiangsu will work together with the Cross Strait Entrepreneurs Summit to broaden the path of economic and trade cooperation between Jiangsu and Taiwan, promote more and more exchanges in fields such as culture and tourism, science and education, sports, especially youth, and contribute more to promoting national reunification and national rejuvenation.
Liu Zhaoxuan said that Jiangsu has a good industrial foundation, a favorable business environment, and a deep cultural heritage, making it a highland for Taiwanese investment.
He said Jiangsu's accelerated modernization drive has provided broader space for promoting cross-strait exchanges and the development of Taiwanese businesses and enterprises.
Liu Zhaoxuan remarked that Taiwan will better highlight the role of the Cross Strait Entrepreneurs Summit, deepen industrial cooperation between Jiangsu and Taiwan, promote the integration and development of the two regions, and work together to enhance the well-being of both sides and create a better future.
