The Standing Committee of the Jiangsu Provincial People's Congress called on deputies of people's congresses at all levels in the province to study and understand the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech, implement the requirements of the Party Central Committee's deployment and take practical actions to promote the province's high-quality development.
The Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress recently launched an activity in Zhenjiang to organize officials and deputies of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress at all levels to visit enterprises in Shiye Town where they reviewed the important speeches and instructions delivered by the General Secretary during his inspection in 2014.
The deputies of the people's congress from across the province are deeply impressed that through nearly a decade of continuous efforts, local governments have turned the Secretary's expectations into a beautiful reality of high-quality development. Cement roads in rural areas have been paved with asphalt, strawberry cultivation has developed into the tourism industry, and more and more enterprises have been granted invention patents.
"I served as the party secretary in the village where the General Secretary made an inspection tour. I am also a deputy to the grassroots People's Congress. In the future, I will keep in mind the General Secretary's instructions and always adhere to the guidance of party building in rural revitalization so as to make Mazhuang Village a base for practicing the new practices of whole-process democracy and ensure that Mazhuang will rank at the forefront of rural revitalization in the country," said Mao Fei, Deputy to People's Congress of Xuzhou City, Secretary of the Party Committee of Mazhuang Village, Jiawang District.
"I will actively play the role of being a deputy to People's Congress, and in promoting residents' autonomy, resolving conflicts and disputes, and maintaining social stability. During its five-year term, the Standing Committee of the Jiangsu Provincial People's Congress will make this study and practice activity as an important driving force the provincial people's congress system to carry out the education campaign on study and implementation of the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, so as to ensure that the activity will benefit nearly 100000 people's congress deputies at all levels in the province.
